Lee Chapman
Rugby, Cricket, Football, Table Tennis, you name it, I played them all! At the age of 15 I got hooked on golf and spent all my free time practicing and playing. At the end my first golfing year I had a handicap of 9.
I turned Professional at 18 years old and was one of the lucky few to be enrolled on the 3 year Golf Course studies course set up by the British Professional Golfers Association (PGA) and Kingston upon Thames university in London.
After graduating from my study I went to work learning my trade, being fortunate to work for and learn from some extremely renowned and dedicated Golf Professionals. My aim was to become a world class player on the European Tour but realistically the more I played the more I knew that my real passion was for teaching the game. The whole coach-pupil relationship and the satisfaction of watching someone improve their game was and still is far more rewarding for me than playing well myself.
My coaching career began in Germany in the middle of a European golfing boom working under one of the most forward thinking and innovative Professionals at that time in Germany. His knowledge and innovation inspired me and has been a major influence in my teaching style. The use of the latest technology to measure and benchmark a golfers ability in my lessons is largely down to the experiences gained in Germany. I genuinely believe that the use of technolgy, as long as it is presented in a style fitting to the student helps to speed up the learning process and therefore their overall pleasure in playing golf.
In 1999 at the age of 24 I took my first Head Professional position at G&CC Winterswijk in Holland which is where I am currently also based. This location boasts two state of the art teaching and fitting studios which are unrivalled in the surrounding area.
In 2007 I set up the company Redflaggolf B.V. in the Netherlands, this gave other golf clubs the opportunity to work with the same concept that I had developed. Currently G&CC Winterswijk, Golf Club Borghees and Golfclub Tecklenburger Land all work together with Redflaggolf and her Golf Professionals.
My coaching development has always been my passion and priority and I strive to stay ahead in my field which led to me being awarded the title of PGA Professional of the year 2005 in Holland. Below are a list of my major accomplishments.
